CVE-2025-30046

CriticalCVSS 9.0
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In the CGM CLININET application server, multiple processes responsible for HL7 communication with external systems run with root privileges while processing untrusted data received from those systems. An attacker on an adjacent network able to send data to these HL7 processes can achieve remote code execution with root privileges.

Risk Assessment

Remote code execution as root is possible for an attacker on an adjacent network, leading to full compromise of the medical application server. The vulnerability was confirmed up to version 2026.MS3, and later versions may also be vulnerable.

Recommendation

Update CGM CLININET to a version containing the fix and restrict network access to the HL7 communication processes to trusted external systems only.
