Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
On MISP instances configured to require TOTP enrolment (Security.otp_required), the enforcement of mandatory two-factor authentication applied only to standard browser requests. An authenticated user who had not yet enrolled in TOTP could bypass the forced setup by issuing non-browser requests (AJAX/XHR, REST API, .json URLs, restSearch, automation). Because these requests cannot follow the redirect to the TOTP enrolment page, the guard was skipped, and the user retained full access without completing the second-factor setup. Fixes (commits 8deb0619e and 6b527ba6e) broadened the guard to cover all non-browser requests, except API key authentication. Affected version: <2.5.48.
Express Gateway through 1.16.11 contains a hardcoded cryptographic key vulnerability that allows attackers with datastore access to decrypt stored OAuth 2.0 token secrets via the default crypto.cipherKey 'sensitiveKey'. Attackers who can read Redis can decrypt tokenEncrypted values and combine them with stored token IDs to obtain valid bearer tokens for any user.
MISP contains a defect in its event save workflow that prevents the correlation engine from recalculating correlations when an event's distribution level or sharing group is modified. When a user edits an existing event and changes its distribution or sharing_group_id, the internal before-save hook stored the incoming (new) data rather than the previously persisted values. As a result, the after-save comparison that determines whether a correlation refresh is needed never detected the change, and stale correlations persisted. Security impact: stale correlations may continue to expose event data to users in a broader sharing group after the event has been moved to a more restrictive group, resulting in unintended information disclosure. Conversely, newly relevant correlations may not appear after a distribution widening, degrading the completeness of threat intelligence sharing. Preconditions: an authenticated user with write access to at least one MISP event; the user modifies the event's distribution or sharing_group_id field. Affected versions: <2.5.48
A flaw was found in m17n-lib where a partial failure during library initialization can leave an internal driver pointer uninitialized. Under specific error conditions, such as system resource exhaustion or database corruption, an application attempting to open an input method dereferences this null pointer without proper validation, causing a crash (DoS).
A flaw was found in m17n-lib. By providing crafted input containing an invalid UTF-8 character sequence, an attacker can cause the text parsing function to enter an infinite loop. This issue leads to sustained high CPU utilization, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected application.
Express Gateway through 1.16.11 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the OAuth 2.0 refresh_token grant that fails to validate the token secret or issuing client. Attackers with any valid client credentials and the identifier portion of another user's refresh token can obtain that user's access token and impersonate them against oauth2-protected APIs.
Missing authentication has been found in remote-execution task updates in the smart_proxy_dynflow package. The progress and completion callbacks accept a report when the one-time token is missing. A network attacker or user must already know the identifier of a running job. This applies when remote execution is set to pull or pull-mqtt mode. They can send their own job output and mark the job as a success or a failure. The job is then recorded with that result.
Obot 0.25.0 before 0.25.6 and 0.26.0 before 0.26.1 contains a race condition in auth provider group refreshes that can restore group memberships just revoked in the identity provider. When overlapping refreshes for the same user commit out of order, stale memberships are persisted and the user retains revoked group-based access for about ten minutes.
Obot 0.26.0 before 0.26.2 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated users matching any vMCP profile to reach prompts and resources of ungranted components. Because profiles were enforced only on tools, attackers can access prompts, resources, and resource templates through the vMCP owner's shared component connection.
Obot 0.12.0 before 0.26.2 contains an insufficiently protected credentials vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read static secrets set on MCP catalog entries by admins or power users. Basic users granted an entry by access control rules can request GET /api/all-mcps/entries/{entry_id} to obtain plaintext API keys or tokens and abuse them against backend services.
Claude Code validated that a target file path resided within the project working directory at permission-check time, but re-resolved the path at write time without repeating that validation. This TOCTOU gap allowed an attacker with write access to the workspace to atomically replace a project file with a symlink, causing Claude Code to follow the symlink and write output to an arbitrary file outside the project sandbox. Exploitation required winning a race condition and write access to the shared workspace, enabling a lower-privileged attacker to redirect benign edits to sensitive files (e.g., shell configuration) in a higher-privileged session. Users on standard auto-update have received the fix; manual updates should update to the latest version.
Post-authentication Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability has been identified in the SMA1000 appliance, which in specific conditions could enable a remote authenticated attacker as administrator to execute arbitrary OS commands, resulting in remote code execution.
A Pre-authentication SSRF vulnerability exists in the SMA1000 Appliance Work Place interface due to an unintended alternate access path. By abusing this path, a remote unauthenticated attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability to direct the appliance to issue requests on their behalf and reach internal functionality and perform unauthorized operations.
The Slider by 10Web (slider-wd) plugin contains a blind SQL injection vulnerability. The issue affects versions up to and including 1.2.63.
The WP Post Author plugin by AF themes contains a blind SQL injection vulnerability. The issue affects versions up to and including 4.0.0.
MiniUPnPd through 2.3.11 built with --strict contains a divide-by-zero vulnerability in ProcessSSDPData() that allows unauthenticated local network attackers to crash the daemon. Attackers can send a single multicast M-SEARCH datagram with MX: 0 and a known ST to port 1900, triggering SIGFPE and denying UPnP IGD service.
GitAhead through version 2.7.1 on macOS contains a command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute shell commands by crafting repository filenames. Attackers can commit a file whose path contains a double quote and a payload, which runs when 'Show in Finder' is selected.
GitAhead through version 2.7.1 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in src/git/Filter.cpp that allows malicious repositories to execute commands by substituting crafted filenames into clean/smudge filter commands. Attackers can ship files named with $(command) selected via .gitattributes so checkout or staging runs the command through bash -c as the victim.
patool before version 4.0.6 contains an OS command injection vulnerability on Windows because shell_quote_nt fails to escape cmd.exe metacharacters or embedded double quotes in archive filenames. Attackers can supply crafted filenames like report&calc.gz for single-file formats run with shell=True to execute commands with patool process privileges.
Rundeck before version 6.2.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability that allows authenticated users with job run permission to execute commands on Windows nodes by supplying crafted option values. Attackers can inject cmd.exe metacharacters such as && or | into free-text options, which CLIUtils.quoteWindowsCMDArg wraps in ineffective single quotes, running commands with node executor credential privileges.
