Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in ntfs_ib_cut_tail() in libntfs-3g/index.c that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by creating a file in a specially crafted directory.
In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, an out-of-bounds read exists in ntfs_fix_file_name() in libntfs-3g/reparse.c that allows an attacker to read possibly confidential information from ntfs-3g process memory by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The out-of-bounds read is triggered by a readlink on a corrupted file.
In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in ntfs_ib_copy_tail(), in libntfs-3g/index.c, that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by extending a directory, e.g., by creating a file.
In wger prior to version 2.6, an authenticated attacker can inject arbitrary workout log entries into any other user's SlotEntry by supplying the victim's slot_entry ID in a POST /api/v2/workoutlog/ request. The slot_entry foreign key is not included in ownership verification, and the injected data is silently folded into the victim's progressive-overload calculations, corrupting auto-generated targets.
In wger prior to version 2.6, a vulnerability in the authentication/session lifecycle allows bearer-style API credentials to remain valid after a user logs out and after a password change. An attacker who steals a DRF authtoken or JWT refresh token can continue to access protected /api/v2/* endpoints until the token is manually rotated/deleted or naturally expires.
wger, a free workout and fitness manager, prior to version 2.6 contains a vulnerability allowing a user with only the `gym_trainer` permission to deactivate any account in the same gym, including `gym_manager` and `general_gym_manager` accounts. The `UserDeactivateView` grants access to anyone holding any one of `gym.manage_gym`, `gym.manage_gyms`, or `gym.gym_trainer` (OR logic) without privilege-hierarchy checks. Version 2.6 fixes the issue.
In wger prior to version 2.6, the trainer_login view accepts GET requests and executes django_login() without CSRF protection, because Django's CsrfViewMiddleware only enforces tokens on unsafe methods. An attacker can embed an <img> tag on a malicious page; when an authenticated trainer loads it, their browser auto-issues the GET with the session cookie, forcibly rebinding the trainer's session to an arbitrary user account.
wger prior to version 2.6 contains a vulnerability in five gym management views where the gym-scope guard (`gym_a != gym_b`) silently passes when both operands are `None`. A trainer with `gym.gym_trainer` and `gym.add_adminusernote` permissions and no gym assignment (`gym=None`) can read private admin notes, uploaded documents, gym contracts, user configuration, and user permission data for any other unaffiliated user. The querysets filter only on `member_id` without secondary gym-scoped validation, disclosing all records. Version 2.6 fixes the issue.
NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7 contains a heap buffer overflow in ntfs_decompress() in compress.c that allows an attacker to corrupt one byte of heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by reading the specially crafted file.
In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in ntfs_ir_to_ib() in index.c that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by extending a directory, e.g., by creating a file.
In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in cat() in ntfscat.c that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the ntfscat binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by reading a file.
Sungrow iSolarCloud before 2026-08-25 allows authentication bypass and account takeover via "login_type":"5" in a login request, potentially leading to "local blackouts on the whole continent" in Europe. An email address for the user_account property is required, but a user can view the email address associated with their parent organization.
llama.cpp before b11393 contains a use-after-free and double free vulnerability in common_chat_peg_mapper::map that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via a dangling current_tool pointer. Attackers can submit a chat_parser in a POST /completion request emitting a tool-id after a tool-close tag to crash llama-server and shape a heap write primitive.
Telegram Desktop before 7.2.9 contains an IPC record-separator injection vulnerability in Core::Sandbox that allows remote attackers to inject OPEN: records via crafted tg:// links containing unescaped semicolons. Attackers can reach the interpret: scheme handler to upload local files, including tdata session keys, to an attacker channel, enabling account takeover.
A post-authentication Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the SMA1000 Appliance Management Console (AMC). Under specific conditions, a remote authenticated attacker with administrator privileges could store and potentially execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the AMC.
A Zip Slip vulnerability in the SMA1000 Appliance Management Console (AMC) interface allows an attacker to extract files outside the intended destination directory using a specially crafted archive, resulting in remote code execution.
In the Linux kernel, a use-after-free vulnerability exists in tcp_send_synack() involving retransmit_skb_hint. When tcp_send_synack() replaces the cloned SYN skb at the head of the retransmit queue with a copy, it frees the original but tp->retransmit_skb_hint still points to the freed object, which can be exploited by an unprivileged TFO client to trigger a use-after-free.
In the Linux kernel, a bug exists in move_hugetlb_page_tables() where the destination address is advanced too far when the source and destination offsets within their page tables differ. This can lead to a kernel panic on x86-64.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in the EmailSheet extract_parts functionality of VisiData (version dev, commit 38b21f78). A specially crafted .eml file can lead to arbitrary file write, which an attacker can trigger by providing a malicious file.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in the unzip_http RemoteZipFile extract functionality of VisiData (dev version, commit 38b21f78). A specially crafted .zip file can lead to arbitrary file write. An attacker can provide a crafted URL to trigger this vulnerability.
