Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The libpcre library in PCRE before version 8.44 is vulnerable to an integer overflow. The issue occurs when a large number is used after the (?C substring in a regular expression.
Nodemailer disables TLS certificate verification in its internal HTTPS fetch client by setting rejectUnauthorized: false in lib/fetch/index.js. This causes OAuth2 token requests to trust invalid or self-signed HTTPS certificates.
A vulnerability in Go's HTTP/2 implementation allows a malicious client to rapidly create and reset requests, causing excessive server resource consumption. Although the number of concurrent streams is limited by MaxConcurrentStreams, resetting requests enables the attacker to continuously send new requests.
Vulnerability in Libgcrypt before versions 1.8.8 and 1.9.x before 1.9.3 mishandles ElGamal encryption due to missing exponent blinding, enabling a side-channel attack on mpi_powm. Additionally, the window size is not chosen appropriately, increasing information leakage risk.
A timing attack vulnerability on the ECDSA algorithm was discovered in the libgcrypt20 cryptographic library. An attacker can exploit timing differences in cryptographic operations to recover the private key.
In xmllint from libxml2 before versions 2.11.8 and 2.12.7, formatting error messages with --htmlout can cause a buffer over-read in xmlHTMLPrintFileContext.
In libxslt before 1.1.43, xsltGetInheritedNsList has a use-after-free issue related to exclusion of result prefixes.
The filepath package in Go does not recognize paths with a \??\ prefix as special. On Windows, a path starting with \??\ is equivalent to a path starting with \\?\ and can be used to access arbitrary system locations.
A flaw in glibc may cause the gaih_inet function to use freed memory in uncommon situations, leading to an application crash. This issue is only exploitable when getaddrinfo is called and the hosts database in /etc/nsswitch.conf is configured with SUCCESS=.
The Go HTTP/1 client does not fully validate the contents of the Host header. A maliciously crafted Host header can inject additional headers or entire requests. The fix prevents sending requests with invalid Request.Host or Request.URL.Host values.
A vulnerability in the Go crypto/tls library allows a DoS attack by sending extremely large RSA keys in certificate chains, causing high CPU usage during signature verification. The fix restricts RSA key sizes transmitted during handshakes to a maximum of 8192 bits.
In Vim before 9.1.0764, a use-after-free occurs when closing a buffer and a BufWinLeave auto command reopens the same buffer in a new split window.
A vulnerability in the Go net/http library allows a malicious HTTP sender to use chunk extensions to force a receiver to read many more bytes from the network than are in the body. A malicious HTTP client can exploit this to cause a server to automatically read a large amount of data (up to about 1 GiB).
In CPython's 'http.cookies' module, parsing cookies with backslash-escaped characters uses a quadratic algorithm, causing excessive CPU usage.
A vulnerability in the XML::Parser library for Perl (up to version 2.45) causes a heap buffer overflow, leading to double free or corruption and crashes. The issue occurs in the parse_stream() function in Expat.xs when the :utf8 PerlIO layer is used, because Perl returns decoded characters while SvPV() expects raw bytes.
A vulnerability in the virtio-gpu module of the Linux kernel involves an incorrect overflow check when allocating 2D images. This flaw can lead to a buffer overflow, potentially enabling privilege escalation or system crash.
An issue was discovered in py-lmdb 0.97 where mdb_node_del does not validate a memmove in the case of an unexpected node->mn_hi, leading to an invalid write operation. This occurs when accessing a data.mdb file supplied by an attacker.
Podatność związana z używaniem niewystarczająco losowych wartości w form-data umożliwia atak typu HTTP Parameter Pollution (HPP). Dotyczy to plików programowych lib/form_data.Js oraz wersji form-data: < 2.5.4, 3.0.0 - 3.0.3, 4.0.0 - 4.0.3.
n8n to platforma automatyzacji procesów roboczych typu open source.
n8n to platforma automatyzacji procesów roboczych typu open source.
