Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The postgresql-operator charm runs a Prometheus postgres_exporter that writes the monitoring user's password in cleartext to its logs on database connection errors. Anyone able to read those logs can recover the password, which grants read-only pg_monitor access to PostgreSQL.
UTMStack before 11.2.16 contains a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in IdentityProviderService.validateMetadataUrl(). An authenticated attacker can make the server send requests to arbitrary internal or cloud metadata hosts by supplying a malicious metadata URL to the identity-providers endpoint.
An information exposure vulnerability in Canonical MAAS prior to versions 3.4.10, 3.5.14, 3.6.5, 3.7.3, and 3.8.0 allows an unauthenticated attacker to retrieve the RPC secret in plaintext via the vendor data metadata endpoint. If a target machine was deployed with the 'register as rack' option enabled, an attacker who obtains or infers the machine's system ID can query the preseed/metadata server to leak the secret.
OpenTelemetry JavaScript Contrib provides instrumentation libraries for collecting telemetry from JavaScript applications. Prior to versions 0.66.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-cassandra-driver, 0.65.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-knex, 0.67.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-mongoose, @opentelemetry/instrumentation-mysql, and @opentelemetry/instrumentation-mysql2, 0.46.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-oracledb, 0.73.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-pg, and 0.40.0 of @opentelemetry/instrumentation-tedious, the packages add the database connection username to every instrumented database operation as the db.user span attribute. The attribute is emitted by default and is not controlled by enhancedDatabaseReporting or another opt-in setting.
Angular SSR is a server-side rendering tool for Angular applications. Prior to versions 20.3.36, 21.2.23, and 22.1.7, the CommonEngine retrieveSSGPage prerendered-page retrieval logic in @angular/ssr/node, and in @angular/ssr for versions 17 through 18, accepts a relative request URL containing a backslash parent-traversal segment on Windows. An unauthenticated requester can retrieve a sibling prerendered HTML page when that page contains the Angular SSG marker.
oRPC is a tool that helps build APIs that are end-to-end type-safe. Prior to 1.14.10, the @orpc/zod ZodSmartCoercionPlugin and experimental_ZodSmartCoercionPlugin collect object properties in plain objects and resolve shape keys through the prototype chain. A remote client can supply __proto__ to replace the prototype of the returned request object, allowing attacker-controlled inherited values to reach application lookups.
oRPC is a tool that helps build APIs that are end-to-end type-safe. Prior to 1.14.9, the @orpc/json-schema SmartCoercionPlugin uses JsonSchemaCoercer to collect object properties in a plain object and to resolve schema.properties entries through the prototype chain. A remote client can supply __proto__ to replace the prototype of the single coerced request object, or supply Object.prototype member names such as constructor and toString so inherited values are treated as sub-schemas.
The All in One SEO WordPress plugin before 5.0.2.1 does not correctly determine which shortcodes are present in content derived from user input before deciding which ones to strip. This allows unauthenticated users to execute arbitrary shortcodes registered on the site, and on sites upgraded from older versions the protection is disabled outright.
Server-side request forgery in the OAuth2 discovery handling in Loom for AWS before 1.7.0 might allow an authenticated remote user to obtain the access token of another user of the deployment and to cause the application to issue requests to arbitrary internal network locations. This is achieved via a crafted discovery document address supplied when registering a tool server or remote agent configured for delegated authentication.
Nx is a monorepo solution for TypeScript and polyglot codebases. From 13.10.0 until 22.7.10 and 23.2.1, Nx migration planning reads the nx-migrations.migrations value from a target package manifest without validating that it is a contained relative path. A hostile dependency can supply .. segments or an absolute path, causing the migration archive to write attacker-controlled bytes outside the temporary directory or truncate an existing writable file.
The Meari IoT Cloud Platform OpenAPI Service is vulnerable to an authorization flaw that allows authenticated users to access the complete device shadow of any device by specifying its device ID. This vulnerability exposes sensitive information, such as device credentials, owner details, network data, and telemetry, without verifying any relationship between the requester and the target device.
Next.js versions 16.3.0 through 16.3.8 share cache fills for the same key without separating Draft Mode requests from regular requests. An overlapping regular request can receive unauthenticated unpublished content from an editor's Draft Mode fill, while an overlapping Draft Mode request can receive published content from a regular fill. When the regular request prerenders a page, the draft-dependent content can persist in the generated page and be served to later visitors until revalidation. Sites are affected when Cache Components or experimental.useCache is enabled and cached functions return draft-dependent content. This issue is fixed in version 16.3.8.
Next.js versions 15.0.0 through 15.5.27 and 16.3.8 for self-hosted applications using the Pages Router with statically generated or Incremental Static Regeneration pages can key a response cache entry without sufficiently binding it to the source route. A request can replace one page's cache entry with content from a different route, causing the affected page to serve incorrect content to every visitor until revalidation. Applications deployed on Vercel are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 15.5.27 and 16.3.8.
Next.js is a React framework for building full-stack web applications. From 16.0.0 until 16.3.8, the next dev development server exposes a Model Context Protocol endpoint without reliably restricting cross-site requests. A malicious website visited by a developer can reach the endpoint and read the project's disk location, source code snippets from error reports, route inventory, and development logs. Production deployments do not serve this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 16.3.8.
Next.js versions 16.0.0 through 16.3.8 in the `next dev` development server expose a Model Context Protocol endpoint without reliably restricting cross-site requests. A malicious website visited by a developer can reach the endpoint and read the project's disk location, source code snippets from error reports, route inventory, and development logs. Production deployments do not serve this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 16.3.8.
Next.js versions 15.0.0 through 15.5.27 and 16.3.8 for applications with a root-level catch-all page and statically generated or Incremental Static Regeneration routes can use a shared response cache key that is insufficiently scoped to the source route. A single unauthenticated crafted request can poison that cache, causing cross-user content substitution or persistent denial of service until the poisoned entry is revalidated or replaced. This issue is fixed in versions 15.5.27 and 16.3.8.
Next.js from 16.0.0 to 16.3.8 has a vulnerability in image optimization that allows bypassing the allow-list and accessing private IP addresses. An attacker can control DNS resolution for a remote URL that matches images.remotePatterns.
In SuperAGI v0.0.14 and prior, controller endpoints (/api/agents/create, /api/agents/schedule, /api/agents/delete, /api/agents/edit_schedule, /api/agents/stop_schedule) allow authenticated users from one organization to create, schedule, edit, stop, and delete agents belonging to a different organization's project. The endpoints accept a project_id parameter but do not verify that the project belongs to the authenticated user's organization.
MISP contains an improper access control vulnerability in its attribute search and paginated attribute view endpoints. When a user queries for soft-deleted attributes, the application returned soft-deleted attributes belonging to events owned by other organizations to any authenticated user who had visibility of the event. The event detail view correctly restricted soft-deleted attribute visibility to the owning organization and sync-permission users, but the attribute search and paginated view code paths lacked this restriction. Preconditions: an authenticated MISP user with at least read access to an event owned by another organization, and the user issues a query for deleted attributes. Impact: Confidentiality: soft-deleted threat intelligence attributes from other organizations are disclosed to unauthorized users. Affected versions: MISP versions prior to v2.5.48.
MISP contains an authorization bypass in the related events listing functionality. When a user requests the list of events correlated to a given event, the system retrieved related event metadata directly from the correlation table without re-validating the caller's access rights against each related event. The correlation table stores a snapshot of the event's distribution level and sharing group at the time the correlation was created, and does not carry the published flag. As a result, events that the caller is not permitted to open—because they are unpublished, or because their distribution or sharing group has changed since the correlation was recorded—were still returned with their metadata. Preconditions: an authenticated user with access to at least one event in MISP, and the existence of correlation entries linking that event to other events the user should not be able to view. Impact: unauthorized disclosure of event metadata and potential reconnaissance of threat-intelligence event names and timelines across sharing groups. Affected: MISP versions prior to the fix commit (2ffa97f05).
