CVE-2026-19856
MediumCVSS 6.5Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk7th percentile - higher than 7% of all known CVEs
Summary
The All in One SEO WordPress plugin before 5.0.2.1 does not correctly determine which shortcodes are present in content derived from user input before deciding which ones to strip. This allows unauthenticated users to execute arbitrary shortcodes registered on the site, and on sites upgraded from older versions the protection is disabled outright.
Risk Assessment
An unauthenticated attacker can execute arbitrary shortcodes registered on the site, potentially leading to data exposure or unwanted actions. Sites upgraded from older versions are reachable without any crafted input.
Recommendation
Upgrade the All in One SEO plugin to version 5.0.2.1 or later. After upgrading, verify that shortcode protection works correctly, especially on sites migrated from older versions.
Other vulnerabilities in All in One SEO
See all- CVE-2026-100152Medium
The All in One SEO plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary shortcode execution in all versions up to, and including, 5.0.2. An unauthenticated attacker can execute arbitrary shortcodes, which requires the AIOSEO breadcrumb to be rendered on the search results page.
- CVE-2026-85492Medium
The All in One SEO plugin for WordPress up to version 5.0.1.1 is vulnerable to DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via URL Pathname. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow unauthenticated attackers to inject scripts. Exploitation requires the victim to have aioseo_manage_seo capability and open the SEO Preview panel.
- CVE-2026-10755Low
The All in One SEO WordPress plugin before version 4.9.9 does not correctly restrict access to some of its AI integration REST API endpoints, allowing users with low-level privileges such as Contributors to overwrite or reset the site-wide AI integration state.
- CVE-2026-5075Medium
The All in One SEO plugin for WordPress up to version 4.9.7 exposes sensitive internal option data via 'internalOptions' localized script data passed to wp_localize_script() in post editor contexts. Lack of effective masking for low-privilege users allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to view configured API/OAuth tokens and license-related values from the page source.
- CVE-2025-12847Medium
The All in One SEO – Powerful SEO Plugin to Boost SEO Rankings & Increase Traffic plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized arbitrary media attachment deletion due to a missing authorization check in all versions up to, and including, 4.8.9. This is due to the REST API endpoint `/wp-json/aioseo/v1/ai/image-generator` only verifying that users have the `edit_posts` capability (Contributors and above) without checking if they own or have permission to delete the specific media attachments. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to permanently delete arbitrary media attachments by ID via the REST API, granted they can determine valid attachment IDs.
