CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-94485

MediumCVSS 6.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Next.js versions 16.0.0 through 16.3.8 in the `next dev` development server expose a Model Context Protocol endpoint without reliably restricting cross-site requests. A malicious website visited by a developer can reach the endpoint and read the project's disk location, source code snippets from error reports, route inventory, and development logs. Production deployments do not serve this endpoint. This issue is fixed in version 16.3.8.

Risk Assessment

The risk concerns development environments where a malicious site could steal sensitive project information such as paths, source code, or logs, potentially facilitating further attacks.

Recommendation

It is recommended to upgrade Next.js to version 16.3.8 or later, and to avoid visiting unknown websites while working with the development server.
