Summary

The WP Ghost (Hide My WP Ghost) plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 7.0.12) is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting via the 'replaceHeadersAndTags' function. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allows an unauthenticated attacker to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user clicks on the injected link.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser upon clicking a link, potentially leading to session theft or account takeover. The risk is moderate, requiring user interaction.

Recommendation

Update the WP Ghost plugin to a version newer than 7.0.12. Audit the code for other XSS vulnerabilities.
