CVE-2026-57169
CriticalCVSS 9.6Summary
Dockhand is a Docker management application. Prior to 1.0.34, the in-browser container terminal endpoint /api/containers/<id>/exec does not enforce authentication on the WebSocket upgrade request. When an unauthenticated attacker has network reach to Dockhand, knows a target container ID, and targets a container with an interactive shell, the attacker can open a raw WebSocket terminal session and execute commands inside the container.
Risk Assessment
The vulnerability enables unauthenticated command execution inside the container, with possible host compromise when the container has sensitive mounts or privileged execution. Dockhand installations prior to 1.0.34 are exposed.
Recommendation
Update Dockhand to version 1.0.34 or later. Until patched, restrict network access to the /api/containers/<id>/exec endpoint and avoid running containers with interactive shells and sensitive mounts.
Other vulnerabilities in Dockhand
See all- CVE-2026-53989Medium
Dockhand before 1.0.36 contains an open redirect vulnerability in the OIDC initiation endpoint that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to redirect authenticated users to attacker-controlled sites by injecting an unvalidated redirect query parameter. Attackers can craft a malicious link to capture authorization codes via the Referer header and conduct credential phishing.
- CVE-2026-110130Critical
Dockhand before 1.0.45 contains an authentication bypass in which the global auth hook skips authentication for any path ending in a static-asset extension such as .js, including /api/* routes, and the user-mutation handlers fail open for unauthenticated callers. Unauthenticated remote attackers can send a PUT request to /api/users/<id>.js to reset the admin's or any user's password and take over the account.
- CVE-2026-53988Critical
Dockhand before 1.0.40 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in its git webhook endpoints that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to trigger arbitrary stack redeployments by exploiting a null webhook secret guard condition. Attackers can enumerate sequential stack IDs and send unsigned webhook requests to force git clone and docker compose operations, enabling denial of service or, when combined with write access to the tracked git branch, container escape and full host compromise via attacker-controlled docker-compose.yml with privileged bind mounts.
- CVE-2026-110112High
Dockhand before 1.0.50 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability that allows users from another tenant to gain admin access because OIDC iss, aud, nonce and exp claims are not validated. Attackers with admin rights in another tenant of a shared provider like Microsoft Entra ID can recreate the mapped admin group and log in as Dockhand administrators.
Original NVD description (English source)
Dockhand is a Docker management application. Prior to 1.0.34, the in-browser container terminal endpoint /api/containers/<id>/exec does not enforce authentication on the WebSocket upgrade request. When an unauthenticated attacker has network reach to Dockhand, knows a target container ID, and targets a container with an interactive shell, the attacker can open a raw WebSocket terminal session and execute commands inside a known target container. This allows unauthenticated command execution inside the container, with possible host compromise when the container has sensitive mounts or privileged execution. This issue is fixed in version 1.0.34.
