Summary

The UnitechPay WordPress plugin through 1.0.6.3 does not verify the authenticity of the payment notifications it receives. This allows unauthenticated attackers to mark orders as paid without any payment being made, as well as to force other orders into a failed state.

Risk Assessment

The organization may suffer financial losses from forged payment confirmations and lose consistency of order data. The attack requires no authentication, making it easy to perform.

Recommendation

Update the UnitechPay plugin to a version newer than 1.0.6.3 or disable it if no fix is available. Consider verifying payment notifications server-side.
