Summary

The mcp-security library in Spring AI prior to version 0.1.9 fails to implement mandatory SSRF mitigations, processing untrusted URLs for OAuth discovery without verifying if targets are malicious or internal. This only affects installations with Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) enabled.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can exploit the lack of URL validation to perform an SSRF attack, potentially accessing internal network resources or making unauthorized requests.

Recommendation

Immediately update the mcp-security library to version 0.1.9 or later, which contains the fix for this vulnerability.
