CVE-2026-44670
CriticalSummary
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. In versions prior to 3.7.0, attribute view names are stored without HTML escape, leading to potential HTML injection and Node.js code execution in the renderer.
Risk Assessment
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to remote code execution, posing a serious threat to the application's security and user data.
Recommendation
It is recommended to upgrade to version 3.7.0 or later to mitigate this vulnerability and implement appropriate security measures in the application.
Other vulnerabilities in SiYuan
See all- CVE-2026-103763Medium
SiYuan before v3.8.5 contains an information disclosure vulnerability that allows read-only publish readers to learn metadata of publish-excluded documents through the getNotebookInfo endpoint. Attackers, including anonymous visitors when no reader password is set, can query publish-visible notebooks to obtain document count, size and modification timestamps of hidden documents.
- CVE-2026-100644High
SiYuan before v3.8.4 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the graph query endpoint where the dailyNoteSavePath parameter is concatenated into SQL without escaping. Unauthenticated attackers on published sites with auth disabled can inject SQL via UNION SELECT to extract arbitrary database rows from all notebooks.
- CVE-2026-100640Medium
SiYuan before v3.8.4 contains an authorization omission in the siyuan-get IPC handler that allows remote-kernel renderers to access native clipboard formats by invoking clipboardReadMathML, clipboardReadOffice, and clipboardReadWPS commands with matching plaintext. Attackers controlling remote renderer content can obtain MathML formulas, Office bytes, and WPS bytes from local clipboard during user-mediated paste operations.
- CVE-2026-100636High
SiYuan versions before v3.8.4 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the exportBrowserHTML endpoint that allows authenticated administrators to write arbitrary HTML content to index.html outside the workspace directory. Attackers can supply a folder parameter with directory traversal sequences to escape the export directory and overwrite index.html in any pre-existing kernel-writable location, enabling stored XSS or workspace defacement.
- CVE-2026-92986High
SiYuan before 3.8.4 renders document titles as HTML in the backlink dock tree without escaping markup characters. Attackers can set malicious titles through the rename API or crafted notebooks to execute scripts in the Electron renderer with access to child_process for command execution.
- CVE-2026-92985High
SiYuan versions before 3.8.4 fail to escape bookmark labels imported from notebook files when rendering them in the dock tree. Attackers can craft malicious .sy notebook files with unescaped HTML in bookmark attributes that execute scripts in the Electron renderer with access to child_process for command execution.
- CVE-2026-45371High
SiYuan is a knowledge management system that prior to version 3.7.0 had security vulnerabilities related to 8 ungated APIs that could modify configuration and SQL index. Users with a valid JWT token could access these APIs, leading to unauthorized changes to server state.
- CVE-2026-41894High
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.5, the fix for CVE-2026-30869 only added a denylist check but did not address the root cause – a redundant url.PathUnescape() call in serveExport(). An authenticated attacker can use double URL encoding to traverse directories and read arbitrary workspace files including the full SQLite database, kernel log, and all user documents.
- CVE-2026-84803Critical
SiYuan before version 3.8.2 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in asset serving due to an incomplete extension blocklist that misses script-capable file types. Attackers can upload files with extensions like .xht, .ehtml, .xsl, .xbl, or .rdf that resolve to executable media types and execute JavaScript to steal API tokens and compromise workspaces.
- CVE-2026-77086Critical
SiYuan before v3.7.4 fails to validate the packageName parameter in Bazaar install and uninstall endpoints, allowing authenticated administrators to perform path traversal. Attackers with admin access can write arbitrary files or recursively delete directories by supplying crafted packageName values.
Original NVD description (English source)
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, the kernel stores Attribute View (AV / database) names without any HTML escape, then a render template uses raw strings.ReplaceAll(tpl, "${avName}", nodeAvName) to embed the name in HTML before pushing to all clients via WebSocket. Three independent client paths (render.ts:120 → outerHTML, Title.ts:401 → innerHTML, transaction.ts:559 → innerHTML) consume the value without escaping. Because the main BrowserWindow runs nodeIntegration:true, contextIsolation:false, webSecurity:false (app/electron/main.js:407-411), HTML injection in the renderer becomes Node.js code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.
