An attacker can gain access to teams and private channels they should not have access to, leading to confidentiality breaches and unauthorized access to information. The risk is particularly high if invitation links are shared publicly.

Recommendation

Update Mattermost to the latest version that fixes this vulnerability. Invalidate existing invitation links and instruct users not to share them publicly.
