CVE-2026-18109
HighCVSS 7.2Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk18th percentile - higher than 18% of all known CVEs
Summary
The W3 Total Cache plugin for WordPress up to version 2.10.3 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Author Name due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability is only exploitable when the Lazy Load Images feature is enabled, as the unsafe re-emission occurs exclusively within the LazyLoad mutator's img tag rewriting step.
Risk Assessment
An unauthenticated attacker can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, potentially leading to session theft, account takeover, or malware distribution.
Recommendation
Update the W3 Total Cache plugin to the latest patched version. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the Lazy Load Images feature until the patch is applied.
