Summary

A flaw in foreman_kubevirt disables SSL verification by default when no CA certificate is explicitly set. This allows an attacker to intercept traffic between Satellite and OpenShift and perform a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack.

Risk Assessment

The risk involves potential disclosure or alteration of sensitive data transmitted between systems, compromising confidentiality and integrity.

Recommendation

Immediately configure an explicit CA certificate for the OpenShift connection to enable SSL verification and prevent MITM attacks.

Original NVD description (English source)

A flaw was found in foreman_kubevirt. When configuring the connection to OpenShift, the system disables SSL verification if a Certificate Authority (CA) certificate is not explicitly set. This insecure default allows a remote attacker, capable of intercepting network traffic between Satellite and OpenShift, to perform a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack. Such an attack could lead to the disclosure or alteration of sensitive information.
