CVE-2026-120060

MediumCVSS 5.9
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

psqlODBC trusts server-supplied counts and lengths in three places: SQLBulkOperations can underflow a size subtraction, SQLStatistics iterates index keys without bounding to fixed storage, and bytea octal decoding reads up to two bytes past a truncated escape sequence. A server not trusted under current SSL settings can crash the client or cause out-of-bounds reads. Versions before psqlODBC 18.00.0006 are affected.

Risk Assessment

An untrusted database server can crash the client application or cause out-of-bounds memory reads, potentially leading to data disclosure or service instability. The risk is significant when connecting to servers outside the trusted circle.

Recommendation

Update psqlODBC to version 18.00.0006 or later. Ensure connections are made only to trusted servers with proper SSL verification.

Original NVD description (English source)

psqlODBC trusts counts and lengths in server data in three places. SQLBulkOperations uses a server-supplied row count in a size subtraction that can underflow. SQLStatistics iterates index keys using a server-supplied key count without bounding it to the fixed storage. Bytea octal decoding reads up to two bytes past the end of a truncated escape sequence. A server not trusted under current SSL settings can crash the client or make it read out of bounds. Versions before psqlODBC 18.00.0006 are affected.
