CVE-2026-110258

MediumCVSS 5.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

OW2 ASM 3.0 before 9.11 contains an excessive memory allocation vulnerability in Label.addSubroutineRetSuccessors() that fails to enforce the single-RET-per-JSR rule. Attackers can supply a crafted invalid class file with multiple RET instructions for one JSR, triggering a roughly 2 GB allocation that crashes the JVM.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can remotely cause memory exhaustion and JVM crash, leading to denial of service (DoS) in applications processing untrusted class files. This can disrupt critical JVM-based services.

Recommendation

Update OW2 ASM to version 9.11 or later. If updating is not possible, restrict processing of untrusted class files or increase JVM memory limits as a temporary measure.
