CVE-2026-104764
HighCVSS 7.2Summary
The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to and including 1.17.1 via deserialization of untrusted input. This allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level access and above to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, so impact only occurs if another plugin or theme with a POP chain is installed.
Risk Assessment
If a POP chain exists in another installed plugin or theme, an attacker could delete files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. The risk is conditional but potentially severe in complex WordPress installations.
Recommendation
Upgrade the Post Export Import with Media plugin to a version later than 1.17.1. Review installed plugins and themes for known POP chains and limit administrator privileges.
Other vulnerabilities in Post Export Import with Media
See all- CVE-2026-104763Medium
The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to and including 1.17.1 via the 'file_path' parameter. An authenticated attacker with administrator-level access or above can read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. This requires the attacker to upload a crafted ZIP archive containing a media_metadata.json file with path traversal sequences in the file_path field while specifying an allowed file extension for the destination filename to bypass the extension guard introduced in version 1.13.2.
- CVE-2026-13430High
The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress up to version 1.13.1 is vulnerable to arbitrary file upload. The issue is caused by insufficient file extension validation in the import_media_file_secure function, where the extension allow-list can be bypassed by appending a trailing dot to the filename in a ZIP archive.
Original NVD description (English source)
The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.17.1 via deserialization of untrusted input . This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present.
