CVE-2026-104763
MediumCVSS 4.9Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Elevated risk53th percentile - higher than 53% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to and including 1.17.1 via the 'file_path' parameter. An authenticated attacker with administrator-level access or above can read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. This requires the attacker to upload a crafted ZIP archive containing a media_metadata.json file with path traversal sequences in the file_path field while specifying an allowed file extension for the destination filename to bypass the extension guard introduced in version 1.13.2.
Risk Assessment
An attacker with administrator privileges can read arbitrary files on the server, including configuration files containing passwords, API keys, or other sensitive data, potentially leading to further privilege escalation or data leakage. Any WordPress site running the vulnerable plugin version is at risk.
Recommendation
Update the Post Export Import with Media plugin to a version newer than 1.17.1 as soon as a fix is available, and limit administrator-level accounts to the minimum necessary.

No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, so impact only occurs if another plugin or theme with a POP chain is installed.
- CVE-2026-13430High
