Summary

Joomla Extension regularlabs.com Tabs & Accordions (Pro) versions 2.3.0 - 3.1.0 is vulnerable to privileged stored XSS via data-rlta-url attributes. The plugin accepts a url option for an item and writes it to a generated data-rlta-url attribute, which the browser code passes to window.open() when the item is activated. Affected versions do not reject browser URL schemes that execute JavaScript.

Risk Assessment

A privileged user can inject malicious JavaScript that executes in other users' browsers, potentially leading to session theft or other actions in the victim's context. Joomla sees ordinary plugin syntax while filtering the article, and the executable browser behavior is created later during rendering.

Recommendation

Upgrade Tabs & Accordions (Pro) to a version later than 3.1.0 that rejects dangerous URL schemes. If upgrade is not possible, disable or restrict this feature.
