Risk Assessment

An attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the victim's browser, potentially leading to session theft, account takeover, or page content modification. The risk applies to sites with the Email Confirmation feature enabled in Profile Builder.

Recommendation

Update the User Profile Builder plugin to a version newer than 4.0.3 as soon as it becomes available. Until then, consider disabling the Email Confirmation feature or restricting the ability to edit the First Name field.
