Summary

LMDeploy prior to version 0.11.1 has an insecure deserialization vulnerability because torch.load() is called without the weights_only=True parameter when loading model checkpoint files. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the victim's machine when they load a malicious .bin or .pt model file.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the victim's machine, potentially leading to full system compromise and data breach.

Recommendation

Immediately update LMDeploy to version 0.11.1 or later, which includes the fix.
