Summary

A flaw was found in the runtimes-inventory-rhel8-operator where an internal proxy component is incorrectly configured. This causes the proxy to attach the cluster's main administrative credentials to any command it receives, instead of only the specific reports it is supposed to handle.

Risk Assessment

A standard user within the cluster can send unauthorized commands to the management platform, effectively acting with full cluster administrator permissions. This could lead to unauthorized changes to the cluster's configuration or status on the Red Hat platform.

Recommendation

Immediately update the runtimes-inventory-rhel8-operator to the latest available version that includes the proxy configuration fix. Additionally, review and restrict user permissions within the cluster.
