Summary

The WordPress Welcart e-Commerce plugin (versions up to and including 2.11.22) is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'order_mail' setting due to insufficient sanitization of the order_mail field and lack of output escaping. An authenticated attacker with Editor-level permissions or above can inject arbitrary scripts via the General Setting page.

Risk Assessment

The malicious script executes when an administrator visits the E-mail Setting page, potentially leading to admin session hijacking and full compromise of the store.

Recommendation

Upgrade Welcart e-Commerce to a version newer than 2.11.22. Restrict Editor permissions to trusted users.

Original NVD description (English source)

The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'order_mail' setting in versions up to, and including, 2.11.22. This is due to insufficient sanitization on the order_mail field and a lack of escaping on output. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Editor-level permissions and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts via the General Setting page that will execute when an administrator accesses the E-mail Setting page.
