Summary

The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via the 'wp_usces_order_old (JSON fields searchSql / searchSkuSql)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.12.4 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with editor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with editor-level access can exfiltrate sensitive data from the database, including customer, order, or credential information.

Recommendation

Update the Welcart e-Commerce plugin to a version newer than 2.12.4 that fixes this vulnerability. Additionally, consider restricting editor privileges and monitoring for unusual SQL queries.
