Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Elevated risk
1.62%

73th percentile - higher than 73% of all known CVEs

Summary

Multiple underlying services contain buffer overflow vulnerabilities that could lead to unauthenticated remote code execution by sending specially crafted packets to the PAPI UDP port (Aruba's access point management protocol). Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities allows arbitrary code execution as a privileged user on the underlying operating system.

Risk Assessment

Exploitation of these vulnerabilities could lead to serious security breaches, including unauthorized control over the operating system by malicious users. Organizations should be aware of the risks associated with unauthorized access to their infrastructure.

Recommendation

It is recommended to immediately update the software to the latest version that includes security patches. Additionally, monitoring network traffic on UDP port 8211 for suspicious activity is advisable.

Original NVD description (English source)
