CVE-2006-4264

Critical
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Multiple PHP remote file inclusion vulnerabilities exist in the lmtg_myhomepage Component (com_lmtg_myhomepage) for Mambo. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary PHP code by manipulating the mosConfig_absolute_path parameter in install.lmtg_homepage.php and mtg_homepage.php. The issue has been disputed by a third party, who states that the variable is only used within a function definition; CVE source code analysis on 20060824 is not conclusive but tends to concur with the dispute.

Risk Assessment

If the vulnerability is real, it could allow remote code execution on the server, leading to full system compromise. Due to the dispute, the risk may be lower, but it cannot be entirely ruled out.

Recommendation

Update the lmtg_myhomepage component to the latest version or remove it if not used. Also verify that the mosConfig_absolute_path parameter is not vulnerable to injection in other files.
