CriticalCVSS 9.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

The Joomla Custom Tables extension before 3.7.8 allows an unauthenticated attacker to upload a polyglot file with an attacker-controlled extension to the web-accessible tmp directory. The stored path is disclosed in the response, and the file is served as static content by default.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can host attacker-controlled content (e.g., phishing or malware pages) under the victim's domain, undermining trust in the site and enabling further attacks on users.

Recommendation

Update the Custom Tables extension to version 3.7.8 or later and consider disabling public submission forms if they are not required.
