Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
A vulnerability in Expert Mail by Pusula Communication, IT, and Internet Industry and Trade Co. Ltd. involves improper control of interaction frequency, allowing brute force attacks. This issue affects Expert Mail through 2026-09-18.
Oracle VM VirtualBox before 7.2.8 allows guest OS users to cause an out-of-bounds write in the host OS in pcnetReceiveNoSync in DevPCNet.cpp in the PCNet (Am79C970A) network device model.
In Django 6.1 before 6.1.2, 6.0 before 6.0.9, and 5.2 before 5.2.18, the function django.utils.translation.get_supported_language_variant() is subject to a potential denial-of-service attack when processing many distinct, very long language codes, which are retained as keys in an in-memory cache and consume process memory.
A vulnerability in Johnson Controls Illustra Standard - L4L China on Windows involves improper input validation, allowing OS command injection. This issue affects versions before 6.0.0.66394.
Reflected XSS vulnerability in Akıllı Ticaret Software Technologies Ltd. Co. E-Commerce Pack due to improper input neutralization during web page generation. Affects versions through 2026-10-06.
Mooncake Store through 0.3.13.post1 has a missing authorization vulnerability allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject completed LOCAL_DISK replicas via NotifyOffloadSuccess RPC. Attackers can mount a local disk segment with a self-chosen client UUID, then attach replicas pointing at attacker-controlled endpoints to serve poisoned disk-tier reads and fake key existence.
Mooncake Store master through 0.3.13.post1 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to erase any object's disk replica via EvictDiskReplica and BatchEvictDiskReplica. Attackers reaching the coro_rpc master port can evict DISK replicas across all tenants, deleting objects whose only remaining replica is on disk.
Mooncake Store through 0.3.13.post1 has a missing authorization vulnerability allowing unauthenticated attackers to create, steal, and falsely complete replication tasks via the coro_rpc port. Attackers can invoke CreateCopyTask, CreateMoveTask, FetchTasks, and MarkTaskToComplete with victim client UUIDs disclosed by QueryTask to hijack task queues and record replication that never occurred.
Mooncake Store master through 0.3.13.post1 contains a missing authentication vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to force-delete any object via Remove, RemoveByRegex, RemoveAll and BatchRemove on the coro_rpc port. Attackers can send forged requests with the force flag set to bypass lease checks, wipe keys matching any regex, or clear the entire store, causing cache loss and request failures.
Mooncake through 0.3.13.post1 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in the Store REST service, which binds to 0.0.0.0 without authentication on any route. Unauthenticated attackers can call routes such as /api/get, /api/put, /api/remove_all and /api/mount to read cached KV data with user prompts, inject or delete objects, and mount attacker-described segments.
tftp-hpa versions 5.4 through before 6.0 contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in rewrite_string() in tftpd/remap.c that walks heap memory during jump label searches. Unauthenticated remote attackers can send read or write requests with filenames matching a remap jump rule to crash the forked in.tftpd request handler.
A vulnerability was determined in Kusalkasilva Learning-Management-System up to ffeb873f8803f1e9664384ff75000c7da45466d2. The impacted element is an unknown function of the file student_signup.php of the component Student Registration Endpoint. This manipulation causes sql injection. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized.
lrzsz before 0.13.0 has a heap-based buffer overflow in procheader() of the lrz receive utility when copying overlong sender-supplied filenames into Pathname. Malicious ZMODEM senders can supply filenames up to 8192 bytes, overflowing the buffer via sprintf() in pipe mode or strcpy() to corrupt heap memory and crash lrz.
lrzsz before 0.13.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in the lrz receive utility's pipe mode that allows remote senders to execute commands by supplying crafted filenames. When lrz runs under a suffixed name such as lrztar, procheader() in src/lrz.c passes the unescaped ZMODEM/YMODEM filename to popen(), so shell metacharacters execute as the receiving user.
lrzsz before 0.13.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the lrz receive utility's restricted mode that allows malicious ZMODEM senders to write files outside the current directory using absolute pathnames. Because checkpath() in src/lrz.c only rejects '../' sequences unless built with --enable-pubdir, attackers can send files named with absolute paths to overwrite any file writable by the receiving user.
libmikmod before 3.3.14 contains an integer overflow in the Oktalyzer loader OKT_doPBOD() that allows attackers to cause heap buffer overflow via crafted track counts. Attackers can supply an OKT module whose SLEN chunk wraps the 16-bit numtrk value, causing PBOD writes past allocated track pointers for crashes or code execution.
libmikmod before 3.3.14 has a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Impulse Tracker loader load_it.c that allows attackers to read adjacent heap memory via oversized patterns. Attackers can supply a crafted IT module with more than 200 pattern rows, causing IT_ConvertTrack() to read past the itpat buffer and crash applications.
libmikmod before 3.3.14 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in DSM_Load() in load_dsm.c that allows attackers to trigger heap buffer overflow via crafted track counts. Attackers can supply a DSM module whose numchn and numpat product wraps a 16-bit value, overwriting heap memory to cause crashes or potential code execution.
Microsoft UFO prior to 3.0.9 has a vulnerability where authenticated device registration through /api/devices can supply a permitted attacker-controlled WebSocket endpoint while aip/transport/websocket.py applies pinned_addresses only to the initial destination. The pinned websockets.connect() client follows cross-origin redirects and opens a new TCP connection before Galaxy performs its post-handshake peer-IP validation, allowing WebSocket upgrade requests to internal hosts reachable from the server. The confirmed impact is the internal connection and handshake request, and does not establish arbitrary HTTP methods, response-body disclosure, a completed AIP session, or cloud metadata access. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.9.
In Microsoft UFO's execute_command tool (linux_mcp_server.py), sort and uniq are treated as read-only commands even though their options allow file output. An authenticated caller can use sort -o or the optional second uniq operand to create or overwrite files writable by the UFO server process without shell metacharacters. The issue is fixed in version 3.0.9.
