Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The WholesaleX – B2B & Wholesale Plugin for WooCommerce with Wholesale Prices plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Limited Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.8 via the 'process_registration' due to missing validation on the 'wholesalex_registration_role' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register as any existing WholesaleX role. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 2.3.8.
A vulnerability HPE NonStop SQL/MX Run-Time Statistics may allow an attacker to cause memory corruption and null pointer dereference, potentially leading to process crash, DoS or information disclosure.
In `api-gateway` versions till `1.7.3`, The default rate-limit key resolver, `ClientIpKeyResolver`, derives the per-client bucket key from the leftmost element of the `X-Forwarded-For` request header. That element is supplied by the originating HTTP client and is not validated against any trusted-proxy list. A single attacker can therefore obtain an unlimited number of independent rate-limit buckets — one per unique header value — and completely bypass the gateway's request-rate limiting on every route that uses the shipped default configuration.
A heap buffer overflow in HPE NonStop Posix User Threads may allow arbitrary code execution.
A vulnerability in HPE NonStop Kernel Level Thread Model Lib can cause stack buffer overflow which can allow arbitrary code execution.
Incomplete cleanup vulnerability in ABB My Control System. This issue affects My Control System: 26.4 and 26.5.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been reported to affect QuFTP Service. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to inject malicious code. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 1.4.6, 1.5.5, and 1.6.5 and later.
An unix symbolic link (symlink) following vulnerability has been reported to affect Qsync Central. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to compromise the security of the system. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 5.0.0.7, 5.1.0.3, 5.2.0.5, and 5.3.0.2 and later.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been reported to affect Notes Station 3. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to inject malicious code. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 3.9.12 and later.
A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability has been reported to affect Download Station. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read application data. The vulnerability has been fixed in versions 5.10.1.312 and 5.11.2.321 and later.
A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Video Station. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read the contents of unexpected files or system data.
An OS command injection vulnerability has been reported to affect Notes Station 3. If exploited, the vulnerability could allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The vulnerability has been fixed in version 3.9.11 and later.
In Eclipse Jetty, SessionAuthentication retains authentication credentials in a serializable object. When the credentials contain a plaintext password and the authenticated session is persisted to a session data store, the password may consequently be written to persistent storage in plaintext. An attacker with sufficient privileges to read the persisted session data may obtain the plaintext passwords of authenticated users.
In Eclipse Jetty, across various versions of jetty-security and jetty-eeN-security, two or more security constraints with the same http-method-omission set, and no url-patterns, are not combined properly per Jakarta Servlet Spec. Resulting in later http-method-omission sets overriding previous constraints with the same http-method-omission set.
In Eclipse Jetty, across various versions of jetty-security, jetty-eeN-security, and jetty-eeN-servlet, the Jakarta Spec constraints defined as http-method-omission can be bypassed by using substrings of the defined HTTP Methods.
"ゲオアプリ" provided by GEO CORPORATION is vulnerable to improper authorization in handler for a custom URL scheme. An attacker may be able to cause the application's in-app browser to access an arbitrary website, potentially leading to phishing attacks or disclosure of a service's session ID.
HPE NonStop EMS Distributor is vulnerable to buffer overflow condition that may result in undesirable behavior.
In Eclipse Jetty, `TryPathsHandler` and `TryFilesFilter` can be configured to forward requests to template URIs such as `index?p=$path`, where `$path` is the request path in context. However, URI paths may contain characters that are reserved in URI queries so that a path of `/s&a=1` when applied to the template becomes `index?p=/s&a=1`, which is interpreted as 2 query parameters: `p=/s` and `a=1`, rather than just one query parameter `p` whose value is `/s&a=1`.
The smartphone application "Vehicle Inspection Certificate Viewer" contains a vulnerability in which sensitive information may be included in data transmitted by the application, potentially leading to the exposure of API integration credentials such as an access ID and access key.
"Handmade Marketplace App - Creema" provided by CREEMA LTD. contains an open redirect vulnerability. When accessing a specially crafted URL, a website set up by the attacker may be displayed within the app's screen of a user. As a result, the user may become a victim of a phishing attack.
