Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to unauthorized access.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an Improper Validation of Certificate with Host Mismatch vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to protection mechanism bypass.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to protection mechanism bypass.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain a Use of Incorrect Operator vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to unauthorized access.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to unauthorized access.
A vulnerability has been found in java-json-tools json-patch up to 1.13. Affected by this vulnerability is the function JsonPatch.apply of the file src/main/java/com/github/fge/jsonpatch/JsonPatch.java of the component Patch Operation Handler. The manipulation leads to resource consumption. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A flaw has been found in java-json-tools json-patch up to 1.13. Affected is the function JsonMergePatch.fromJson of the file JsonMergePatchDeserializer.java. Executing a manipulation can lead to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit has been published and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
A vulnerability was detected in ggml-org llama.cpp up to 0.4.0. This impacts the function rpc_server::deserialize_tensor of the file ggml/src/ggml-rpc/ggml-rpc.cpp of the component RPC Server. Performing a manipulation of the argument ne results in reachable assertion. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The reported GitHub issue was closed automatically due to inactivity.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain a Use of Hard-coded Cryptographic Key vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could exploit this, leading to information disclosure.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could exploit this, leading to information exposure.
Deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability in Next4Biz Information Technologies Inc. CSM (Customer Service Management) allows Code Injection. This issue affects CSM versions before 8.0.3.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain a Missing Authentication for Critical Function vulnerability.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain an OS Command Injection vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could exploit this, leading to command execution.
Dell SCG 5.0 Appliance versions prior to 5.36.00.16 and Dell SCG 5.0 Application versions prior to 5.36.00.00 contain a Missing Authentication for Critical Function vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to unauthorized access.
Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Next4Biz Information Technologies Inc. CSM (Customer Service Management) allows Path Traversal. This issue affects CSM (Customer Service Management): from 6.8.9 before 8.0.3.
A flaw in 389-ds-base, in the Cockpit 389 Console's LDAP editor. An LDAP entry's DN is embedded into a shell command without proper escaping. A user with delegated privileges could craft a malicious DN with shell metacharacters, leading to command execution with root privileges when viewed by an administrator.
In 389 Directory Server, during SASL PLAIN authentication, a stale identity carried in a Cyrus SASL auxiliary property from a prior failed bind attempt can be installed on a connection following a subsequent, unrelated successful bind, regardless of which SASL mechanism completes that second bind. An attacker can send a SASL PLAIN bind as cn=Directory Manager with an incorrect password, then complete a SASL ANONYMOUS bind on the same connection, causing the server to grant Directory Manager authority without any valid credentials. A variant using a valid low-privileged account's own successful bind instead of an anonymous one is also possible.
A missing NULL pointer check in the paged results handling of op_shared_search in 389 Directory Server. An unauthenticated remote attacker can crash the LDAP server by sending a crafted sequence of search requests using the USE_ONE_BACKEND control, resulting in denial of service.
A heap buffer overflow in the SASL I/O layer of 389 Directory Server. In sasl_io_start_packet(), the wrapped-record length is only validated against an upper bound. A small wire length causes an unsigned underflow, leading to a read of about 4 GiB into a 1024-byte heap buffer. A remote authenticated attacker after a successful SASL bind with integrity protection can cause denial of service or potentially remote code execution.
