Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
A vulnerability was found in TRENDnet TEW-755AP up to 20260702. Affected is the function FUN_401000 of the file /sbin/mycli. The manipulation of the argument ssid results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used.
In Splunk MCP Server app versions below 1.2.1, a user who holds the "admin" Splunk role could execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system. The vulnerability is possible because of missing input validation in the app's credential management component, which deserializes stored data without checking whether the content is of the expected type.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.1, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an unauthenticated user who can read the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) source of a page that embeds a Splunk report could use exposed session material to access all relevant data and affect system integrity. The vulnerability is possible because the dispatch archive download path does not correctly enforce the embedded-report authorization boundary and includes sensitive session material in archived search-job data.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an unauthenticated user who has an embedded report token could download the dispatch archive for an embedded report search job and use exposed session material to access all relevant data and affect system integrity on the Splunk platform instance. The vulnerability is possible because the embedded report authorization flow does not block dispatch archive download requests before Splunk Enterprise begins sending the archive to the requester.
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, an unauthenticated user who has an embedded report token could download the associated search job dispatch archive, recover session material, and use it to access all relevant data available to the report owner and affect system integrity, including by performing administrative actions when the owner holds the "admin" Splunk role. The vulnerability is possible because embedded report access does not block Representational State Transfer (REST) API dispatch archive download requests.
A security flaw has been discovered in TRENDnet TV-IP751WIC 11.03.03. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file /cgi-bin/admin/set_time.cgi of the component alphapd. The manipulation of the argument Currenttime results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks.
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. Prior to 4.1.137.Final and 4.2.17.Final, io.netty.handler.ssl.SslClientHelloHandler#decode checks the wrong offset before reading the four-byte TLS handshake header, so a ClientHello whose handshake header spans records can cause an IndexOutOfBoundsException and invoke select(ctx, null). This selects the default SslContext instead of the SNI-specific context. In deployments where per-SNI clientAuth=REQUIRE is the sole mutual TLS gate, the default SslContext uses clientAuth=NONE or clientAuth=OPTIONAL, and no application-layer certificate verification exists, an unauthenticated remote attacker can bypass the protected route's mutual TLS requirement. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.137.Final and 4.2.17.Final.
Termix before version 2.6.1 contains a vulnerability in the GET /host/db/host/:id/password endpoint that does not enforce host ownership during credential resolution. An authenticated user can enumerate host IDs and retrieve SSH or sudo passwords belonging to other users.
Termix before version 2.3.2 contains a vulnerability in the terminal WebSocket that allows an authenticated low-privileged user to use another user's credentials to connect to an attacker-controlled SSH server. This can lead to disclosure of SSH passwords or private keys.
Termix before version 2.3.2 contains a vulnerability in the SSH tunnel teardown path that interpolates user-controlled data into a pkill command pattern. An authenticated user can inject a shell command that executes when the tunnel is disconnected.
ICEcoder 8.1 contains an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability that allows an attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands by chaining authentication bypass, CSRF validation bypass, and unsanitized command execution.
Etherpad from version 2.1.0 to 3.1.0 contains an authorization vulnerability in the API that allows a non-admin user with a valid token to invoke administrative functions such as modifying, deleting, or disclosing pads.
Etherpad before version 3.3.1 contains an XSS vulnerability in the import functionality that allows a user with write access to a pad to store malicious markup that executes when other users, including administrators, open the pad.
OZOLS on Windows before version 1.1.1233 contains a vulnerability related to downloading code without integrity checks, including functionality from an untrusted control sphere, and cleartext transmission of sensitive information, caused by an abandoned auto-update domain.
Heap-based buffer overflow in the multipart form-data parser in `jst_post.c` in RDK-B WebUI `rdkb-2025q4-kirkstone.04.10.26` allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause memory corruption and denial of service, and potentially execute arbitrary code, via a crafted multipart/form-data request.
Improper cryptographic signature verification in `jst_functions.c` in RDK-B WebUI `rdkb-2025q4-kirkstone.04.10.26` allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication and obtain administrative access via a forged JWT containing an invalid RSA signature.
IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3, and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper validation of network-supplied pointers.
IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3, and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code due to an integer overflow.
IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3, and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code due to a stack buffer overflow.
IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service due to an out-of-bounds write.
