Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The AsyncHttpClient (AHC) library in versions from 2.1.0 until 2.16.1 and 3.0.12 can expose authenticated SOCKS proxy credentials to the origin server. The Proxy-Authorization header is attached without confirming the request is sent to an HTTP proxy, so preemptive authentication leaks plaintext credentials, and with the default flow a hostile origin can force NTLM, Kerberos, or SPNEGO credentials through the SOCKS tunnel via a 407 response.
The AsyncHttpClient (AHC) library allows Java applications to easily execute HTTP requests and asynchronously process HTTP responses. From 3.0.8 until 3.0.12, a client with maxConnections or maxConnectionsPerHost set above zero leaks one connection permit whenever TLS connection establishment fails before the handshake completes. NettyConnectListener removes the partitionKeyLock permit from NettyResponseFuture before every failure path is bound to the channel closeFuture, so an abort can leave the permit unreleased. Repeated failures can permanently lock out one host under a per-host limit or drain the shared pool under a global limit, blocking later requests even when no connection remains open. The default unlimited connection setting is not affected. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.12.
The AsyncHttpClient (AHC) library allows Java applications to easily execute HTTP requests and asynchronously process HTTP responses. From 2.14.5 to 2.16.0 and from 3.0.9 to 3.0.11, a client configured with a client-wide Realm and redirect following can disclose credentials after a cross-origin redirect because the Interceptors authentication path falls back to the client configuration after redirect handling clears the per-exchange realm. If the attacker-controlled target returns 401, the client can send Basic or Digest credentials or a Negotiate or NTLM token to that origin. Per-request realms are stripped correctly, and this issue is a residual bypass of the earlier cross-origin credential-stripping fixes. This issue is fixed in versions 2.16.1 and 3.0.12.
ExifReader before version 4.41.1, when parsing attacker-controlled HEIC or AVIF ISO-BMFF files, trusts iloc itemCount and extentCount values while allocating an extent object for every nested-loop iteration. When offsetSize, lengthSize, baseOffsetSize, and indexSize are zero, the extent fields consume no input bytes and the buffer offset does not advance, so the parser can allocate up to itemCount multiplied by extentCount objects without an allocation budget, causing heap growth or memory exhaustion and terminating a Node.js process.
Steeltoe is an open source project that provides a collection of libraries that helps users build cloud-native applications. Prior to 4.3.0, Steeltoe.Security.Authorization.Certificate deployments using AddOrgAndSpacePolicies() and UseCertificateAuthorization() trust the public certificate supplied in the X-Client-Cert request header without proving possession of the corresponding private key. Common Cloud Foundry routers do not remove this header from inbound requests. When inbound requests are not restricted to a known trusted proxy source IP, an attacker who obtains the public certificate of an application instance in the target organization or space and can reach the application can spoof X-Client-Cert to bypass the SameOrg and SameSpace policies for the certificate validity period. This issue is fixed in version 4.3.0.
Steeltoe in versions from 4.0.0 until 4.3.0, in ConsulDiscoveryClient, constructs ConsulServiceInstance objects by parsing each registration's secure metadata with a strict Boolean conversion. A principal that can register a Consul service can supply a secure value other than true or false, causing an exception that aborts construction of the entire instance list and makes the targeted service undiscoverable; when GetAllInstancesAsync enumerates all services, one malformed instance can abort enumeration across every service.
Steeltoe in versions from 4.0.0 until 4.3.0, in EurekaDiscoveryClient, deserializes the registry response as one unit, so an unrecognized actionType or status, a non-Boolean isCoordinatingDiscoveryServer, or a nonnumeric timestamp can abort the entire response. A principal that can register or update an instance can cause all connected Steeltoe clients to receive an empty or stale instance list until the malformed registration is removed.
b2evolution CMS versions 6.7.8 through 7.2.5 contain an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-8901 where the serialized-array object check in param_check_serialized_array() fails to reject payloads with negative integer array keys. Unauthenticated attackers can submit crafted serialized PHP objects via POST requests to htsrv/call_plugin.php that bypass validation and reach unserialize(), instantiating arbitrary PHP objects with attacker-chosen properties that may enable code execution if suitable POP gadget chains exist.
A flaw was found in libxml2. A local user or an attacker providing a specially crafted XML catalog can trigger a NULL pointer dereference during XML catalog parsing. This occurs when a `nextCatalog` element lacks its mandatory `catalog` attribute, leading to the application crashing and causing a Denial of Service (DoS).
The Mattermost Desktop App in versions <=6.2 6.2.2.0 fails to validate the URL scheme when checking whether a target URL is internal to the connected server. A network-positioned attacker can load a plugin popout window over an insecure connection via a link using a downgraded URL scheme. Advisory ID: MMSA-2026-00717.
In Steeltoe before version 4.3.0, the /actuator/httpexchanges endpoint masks only URI user information but does not inspect query strings. When IncludeQueryString is enabled, the response can disclose OAuth tokens, password-reset tokens, signed-URL signatures, API keys, and other query-string secrets from prior traffic. The endpoint's DEBUG logger also records these URIs, creating a second disclosure channel.
Umbraco prior to 13.15.1, 17.5.3, and 18.0.2, in the Content Delivery API, applies member and Public Access checks to the directly requested node but not to referenced nodes serialized through Content Picker or Multi-Node Tree Picker properties, including pickers nested in Block List, Block Grid, or Rich Text Editor blocks. When DeliveryApi:PublicAccess is enabled, an anonymous caller can retrieve a protected node's name, route, and id through an unprotected referencing node and use ?expand to retrieve full property values.
MariaDB Connector/J in versions prior to 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9 does not enforce allowLocalInfile=false when processing a LOCAL INFILE packet. A rogue or man-in-the-middle server can cause the connector to transmit a file selected by the application despite the disabled option. The issue is fixed in versions 2.7.14, 3.3.5, 3.4.3, and 3.5.9.
Dell Server Update Utility, versions prior to 26.07.01, contains an Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to code execution.
The Mattermost Desktop App in versions <=6.2 6.2.2.0 fails to validate the IPC sender in the leaveCall handler, allowing a malicious or compromised Mattermost server (or a user with script access to a connected server view) to disconnect an active call belonging to a different connected server via the desktopAPI.leaveCall IPC message. Advisory ID: MMSA-2026-00699.
roxmltree through 0.21.1 performs quadratic-time attribute and namespace validation during XML parsing without limits on attribute count. Attackers can craft XML documents with tens of thousands of attributes on a single element to consume excessive CPU time and cause denial of service.
SiYuan before 3.8.4 renders document titles as HTML in the backlink dock tree without escaping markup characters. Attackers can set malicious titles through the rename API or crafted notebooks to execute scripts in the Electron renderer with access to child_process for command execution.
SiYuan versions before 3.8.4 fail to escape bookmark labels imported from notebook files when rendering them in the dock tree. Attackers can craft malicious .sy notebook files with unescaped HTML in bookmark attributes that execute scripts in the Electron renderer with access to child_process for command execution.
HUBzero CMS through 2.2.32 accepts session identifiers from query strings and request variables instead of cookies alone, allowing unauthenticated attackers to fixate victim sessions. Attackers can obtain a valid session identifier, send victims a crafted link containing it, and replay the identifier after the victim authenticates to hijack their account and access.
InternLM LMDeploy through 0.17.0 in DistServe prefill/decode disaggregation mode fails to release scheduler sessions because the proxy uses user-facing session IDs instead of internal scheduler keys. Unauthenticated attackers can send completion requests to the proxy endpoint that accumulate unreleased scheduler metadata and memory until the prefill worker is out-of-memory killed.
