Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Spring Framework (versions 5.0.x prior to 5.0.7, 4.3.x prior to 4.3.18, and older unsupported versions) allows web applications to change the HTTP request method to any method (including TRACE) using the HiddenHttpMethodFilter in Spring MVC. If an application has a pre-existing XSS vulnerability, an attacker can use this filter to escalate to an XST (Cross Site Tracing) attack.
A vulnerability was discovered in MISP version 2.4.91 that allows reflected XSS. The issue is in app/View/Elements/eventattribute.ctp when a user clicks on a malicious link for an event view and then clicks on the deleted attributes quick filter.
A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured SSL Access Control (AC) policy to block SSL traffic. The issue is due to incorrect handling of TCP SSL packets received out of order. An attacker could send a crafted SSL connection through the device, bypassing the AC policy.
A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass configured file action policies if Intelligent Application Bypass (IAB) with a drop percentage threshold is also configured. The issue is due to incorrect counting of dropped traffic percentage. An attacker could send network traffic to the device, bypassing policies and allowing traffic that should be dropped.
A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured file action policy to drop the SMB protocol if a malware file is detected. The issue is due to how SMB handles a case where a large file transfer fails. An attacker could send a crafted SMB file transfer request through the device, allowing an SMB file containing malware to pass.
A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured file action policy intended to drop SMB2 and SMB3 protocols if malware is detected. The issue is due to incorrect detection of SMB2/SMB3 files based on total file length. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted SMB2 or SMB3 transfer request through the targeted device.
Multiple vulnerabilities in the Login Enhancements (Login Block) feature of Cisco IOS Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to trigger a reload of an affected system, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. These vulnerabilities affect Cisco devices running Cisco IOS Software Release 15.4(2)T, 15.4(3)M, or 15.4(2)CG and later.
A vulnerability in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) subsystem of Cisco IOS Software running on certain models of Cisco Catalyst Switches could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition, aka a GET MIB Object ID Denial of Service Vulnerability. The vulnerability occurs when the affected software processes an SNMP read request containing a request for the ciscoFlashMIB object ID, which could cause the device to restart due to a SYS-3-CPUHOG. This affects Cisco Catalyst 2960-L Series Switches, Cisco Catalyst Digital Building Series Switches 8P and 8U running SNMPv2 or SNMPv3.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability was found in osTicket before version 1.10.2 in the /scp/index.php script. An attacker can inject arbitrary JavaScript or HTML code via the "sort" parameter.
An integer format vulnerability in the ticket number generator in Enhancesoft osTicket before 1.10.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (preventing the creation of new tickets) via a large number of digits in the ticket number format setting.
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in /scp/directory.php in Enhancesoft osTicket before 1.10.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the "order" parameter.
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in /ajax.php/form/help-topic in Enhancesoft osTicket before 1.10.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the "message" parameter.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in ZmMailMsgView.getAttachmentLinkHtml in Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) before 8.7 Patch 1 and 8.8.x before 8.8.7. Remote attackers can inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a Content-Location header in an email attachment.
A vulnerability in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) over an Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) for Cisco IOS XE Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition, or potentially corrupt the BGP routing table, which could result in network instability. The vulnerability exists due to changes in the implementation of the BGP MPLS-Based Ethernet VPN RFC (RFC 7432) draft between IOS XE software releases. When the BGP Inclusive Multicast Ethernet Tag Route or BGP EVPN MAC/IP Advertisement Route update packet is received, it could be possible that the IP address length field is miscalculated. This vulnerability affects all releases of Cisco IOS XE Software prior to software release 16.3 that support BGP EVPN configurations.
SAP CRM, 7.01, 7.02, 7.30, 7.31, 7.33, 7.54, allows an attacker to exploit insufficient validation of path information provided by users, thus characters representing 'traverse to parent directory' are passed through to the file APIs.
A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass file policies configured to block files transmitted via the BitTorrent protocol. The issue is due to incorrect detection of BitTorrent handshake messages. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted BitTorrent connection request to an affected device.
Cisco Umbrella Virtual Appliance Version 2.0.3 and prior contained an undocumented encrypted remote support tunnel (SSH) that auto-initiated from the customer's appliance to Cisco's SSH Hubs. This tunnel allowed authorized personnel from the Cisco Umbrella team to access the appliance remotely without explicit customer approval.
