Summary

In the Linux kernel, the ASoC adau1372 driver used gpiod_set_value() for the powerdown GPIO, triggering a warning when the GPIO provider can sleep (e.g., I2C expanders). The fix uses the _cansleep variant.

Risk Assessment

May cause kernel warnings and potential audio codec power issues when using I2C GPIO expanders. Requires specific hardware.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a patched version. Deploy the update on systems with the adau1372 codec and I2C GPIO expanders.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: adau1372: allow sleepy powerdown GPIOs gpiod_set_value() emits a WARN when the GPIO provider indicates that it can sleep, as is typical for I2C controlled GPIO expanders. Since the powerdown GPIO is only manipulated in process context, use the _cansleep variant instead. This lets the driver use sleepy GPIOs to power off the chip.
