Summary

In the Linux kernel drm/amdgpu/gfx6 driver, firmware requested in gfx_v6_0_init_microcode() is not released when the GFX block is torn down, leaking firmware resources (PFP, ME, CE, RLC).

Risk Assessment

Firmware leakage on each GFX init/teardown cycle can lead to gradual memory exhaustion, especially with frequent resets or driver reloads.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the gfx_v6_0_free_microcode() function called from gfx_v6_0_sw_fini().
