Summary

In the Linux kernel USB serial subsystem, there is a race in dynamic id driver deregistration. Dynamic ids are freed before the driver is deregistered and the "new_id" attribute removed, which can leak an id added by a racing write.

Risk Assessment

The id leak can lead to driver management errors and potential stability issues in the USB serial subsystem.

Recommendation

Update the kernel to a version containing the fix that frees dynamic ids only after deregistering the driver and removing the "new_id" attribute.
