Summary

In the Linux kernel, the iio: adc: pac1934 driver fails to check for ACPI label duplication. When label duplication fails, the code reaches the terminating-byte write, accessing a missing label. The issue was detected by static analysis.

Risk Assessment

May lead to memory corruption or kernel panic during initialization of the pac1934 driver on systems with ACPI configuration containing duplicate labels. Affects system stability and device availability.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that releases the ACPI result and aborts before accessing the missing label. If update is not possible, consider restricting use of the pac1934 driver.
