Summary

In the Linux kernel Ethernet fbnic driver, the payload page pool pointer contains an error pointer when its allocation fails. The cleanup path passes that error pointer to page_pool_destroy() instead of destroying the header page pool, which can dereference the error pointer and leave the header page pool allocated.

Risk Assessment

This can lead to kernel crashes or resource leaks on allocation failures in the network driver.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that destroys the header page pool instead of passing the error pointer.
