Summary

In the Linux kernel, the media qcom iris driver's iris_enable_power_domains() does not use pm_runtime_resume_and_get(), leaking a runtime PM usage count on failure. Also, iris_disable_power_domains() does not always call pm_runtime_put_sync() when iris_opp_set_rate() fails.

Risk Assessment

Unbalanced runtime PM counters may prevent the device from entering low-power states, causing excessive power consumption and driver stability issues.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the qcom iris driver fixes and monitor power usage on affected hardware.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: qcom: iris: fix runtime PM reference leaks Use pm_runtime_resume_and_get() in iris_enable_power_domains() to avoid leaking a runtime PM usage count on failure. Also ensure pm_runtime_put_sync() is always called in iris_disable_power_domains(), even when iris_opp_set_rate() fails, so runtime PM references remain balanced.
