CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-98392

Unknown
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In the Linux kernel Bluetooth driver btintel_pcie, there is an off-by-one bounds check error for tx_handle. Valid indices are 0..txq->count-1, but the guard in btintel_pcie_msix_tx_handle() only checked '> txq->count', allowing an index equal to txq->count. The fix changes the guard to '>= txq->count'.

Risk Assessment

Can lead to out-of-bounds access of the urbd0s/tfds/bufs arrays, causing memory corruption, system crash, or potentially code execution. Affects systems with Intel PCIe Bluetooth cards.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix. If not possible, consider limiting use or disabling the btintel_pcie driver until patched.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: fix tx_handle bounds off-by-one Valid indices into txq->urbd0s/tfds/bufs are 0..txq->count-1, so tfd_index == txq->count is already out of range. Change the guard in btintel_pcie_msix_tx_handle() from '> txq->count' to '>= txq->count'. This issue was reported by Claude Mythos.
