Summary

A weakness was identified in mealie-recipes Mealie up to 3.25.1 in the function payload.model_dump of the file mealie/routes/households/controller_group_recipe_actions.py of the Recipe Action Trigger component. Manipulation of the argument url leads to server-side request forgery. The attack can be executed remotely and the exploit is publicly available.

Risk Assessment

A remote attacker could force the server to make requests to arbitrary resources, potentially leading to disclosure of internal data or attacks on internal infrastructure. A fix is available in version 3.26.0.

Recommendation

Update Mealie to version 3.26.0 or later, which includes patch fb221afa258c8dd2c4ac95b1996c33ef9db3f477. Until then, consider restricting users' ability to set URLs.
