CVE-2026-93323

MediumCVSS 6.8
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.11%

1th percentile - higher than 1% of all known CVEs

Summary

The Dockerfile frontend loaded Dockerfile and .dockerignore files into memory without a size limit. A build context with an oversized file could cause buildkitd to allocate memory proportional to the file size, potentially exhausting memory and terminating the daemon, interrupting other builds.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can cause memory exhaustion and termination of the buildkitd service, leading to denial of service and disruption of other builds on the same instance.

Recommendation

Update BuildKit to a version that rejects files larger than 16 MiB to prevent memory exhaustion.

The Dockerfile frontend loaded the Dockerfile and .dockerignore files of a build context into memory without a size limit. Fixed by rejecting such files above 16 MiB.
