The GeoVision GV-LPC2211 V1.13 fails to enforce WS-Security UsernameToken freshness or nonce reuse protection. A captured PasswordDigest token can be replayed for subsequent ONVIF operations.
Risk Assessment
An attacker who captures an authentication token can replay it to perform unauthorized ONVIF operations. This leads to authentication bypass and device takeover.
Recommendation
Restrict network access to the ONVIF interface and use encrypted communication channels to make token capture harder. Contact the vendor for an update that fixes token freshness validation.
