Summary

The MongoDB integration for Laravel contains improper neutralization of special elements in data query logic within polymorphic relation handling. A caller-supplied relation identifier can be interpreted as a query condition rather than as a literal identifier.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated user who can influence a stored relation identifier may cause the application to return a document other than the intended relation target. This can lead to unauthorized data access.

Recommendation

Upgrade the MongoDB integration for Laravel to a version containing the fix once available, and validate user-supplied relation identifiers. Until patched, consider restricting the ability to influence stored relation identifiers.
