Summary

aria2c accepts a server certificate with incorrect Extended Key Usage (EKU). If the attackers compromise a certificate (with the associated private key) issued for a different purpose, they may be able to reuse it for TLS server authentication.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could impersonate a trusted server, potentially leading to interception of TLS-transmitted data or man-in-the-middle attacks.

Recommendation

Update aria2 to a version that validates certificate EKU, or configure the client to reject certificates with incorrect EKU.
