Summary

A use-after-free vulnerability exists in MongoDB's Field-Level Encryption (FLE) query analysis component, affecting client-side uses of mongocryptd and crypt_shared. Triggering it requires control over the structure of a client's FLE-related query.

Risk Assessment

An attacker able to influence FLE queries could cause a crash or potentially execute code in the client process context. This affects environments using field-level encryption in MongoDB.

Recommendation

Update MongoDB Server (mongocryptd component) to version 7.0.34, 8.0.23, 8.2.9, or 8.3.2 (or later) for the respective branch.
