Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.16%

5th percentile - higher than 5% of all known CVEs

Summary

A user with read access to Grafana's server logs or a log store they are shipped to can recover OAuth and OIDC access, refresh, and ID tokens of users signing in through Generic OAuth, Google, or GitLab providers. Grafana writes these tokens unredacted when a token is not a valid JWT, when the ID token is missing (at debug level), or is not a string. Exposure is bounded by the scopes granted to the OAuth client.

Risk Assessment

Potential session hijacking or unauthorized access to resources on behalf of users whose tokens leaked into logs. Risk applies to organizations where logs are widely accessible or shipped to external stores.

Recommendation

Update Grafana to a version containing the fix and restrict access to logs and log stores. Consider revoking exposed OAuth/OIDC tokens.

Original NVD description (English source)

A user with read access to Grafana's server logs, or to a log store they are shipped to, can recover the OAuth and OIDC access, refresh and ID tokens of users who sign in through the Generic OAuth, Google or GitLab providers. Grafana writes these tokens to its logs unredacted when an access or ID token is not a valid JWT, when the ID token is missing (at debug level) or is not a string (exposure of sensitive information in log files). The exposure is bounded by the scopes granted to the configured OAuth client.
