Summary

The BPMN System REST APIs do not sufficiently validate input parameters, allowing authenticated users to submit crafted requests that can lead to arbitrary command execution on the server. An attacker can execute commands with the privileges of the product's runtime account.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated user can take control of the server within the service account's privileges, potentially causing serious confidentiality and integrity breaches.

Recommendation

Apply the REST parameter validation fix, restrict runtime account privileges, and audit API requests.
