CVE-2026-74036

HighCVSS 7.2
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Wazuh from 4.3.0 before 4.14.8 contains a remote code execution vulnerability where SCA policy trust is determined by file path rather than configuration source. Attackers controlling a manager can write unsigned policy files to var/incoming via the upgrade channel and reference them to execute command checks as root on agents.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can execute arbitrary commands with root privileges on all agents, leading to full system compromise. This may result in data theft, backdoor installation, and further lateral movement.

Recommendation

Update Wazuh to version 4.14.8 or later. Restrict access to the upgrade channel and verify the integrity of SCA policy files in the var/incoming directory.
